    The legibility gap

    Media metadata was designed for connected systems and human workflows — broad categories, ad-server fields, and labels a planner can scan. That worked when evaluation stayed human-scale.

    Agentic systems need structured meaning: supply that carries context, suitability, freshness, provenance, and explainability — so a machine can evaluate fit without reconstructing intent from vague signals.

    Why now

    Buyer agents and seller agents are changing how supply gets evaluated. Protocol-aware systems need structured supply context at the point of decision — not after the fact.

    As automation scales, the cost of vague labels rises. Systems that cannot read supply directly will either skip it or infer — and inference erodes publisher control.
